I saw the first hints of autumn today, colloquially better known as fall.  And that’s appropriate.  In some Pagan circles, today marks the first of the harvest holy days, known as Lammas or Lughnasadh.

For me, it heralds the slide into my favorite season.  The wheel is beginning to turn faster out of summer and toward fall.

In the fall is when I feel most alive, when I feel like, maybe, just maybe, magic is possible.  Out from under the crushing heat of summer, and with fewer allergens (for me) than spring, plus a riot of warm colors, fall is when I am most enamored with my camera and when I spend the most time outside.  It’s when I feel most creative, and most alive.

And I can’t wait for it!  I see it and feel it already.
